WHAT'S HAPPENING EASTER SUNDAY?
We are gathering Easter Sunday which is on April 24th this year at Jaycee Park near the Fort Pierce Inlet with our performing arts program starting at 10:00am. This is our 4th Annual Easter at the Beach & Egg Hunt Event. (see some pictures in the matrix of galleries) We had 400+ kids register and be part of the last years egg hunt. This year we are putting out 10,000 eggs and adding another hunting zone...the event is open to everyone in the community and is free of charge, we only ask that you register for the egg hunt online at our home page or at the event and get a wristband so we can properly place your children in the correct age category.
We will be having the event at Jaycee Park in Fort Pierce, which is located on Florida A1A. If you are traveling North on US 1 coming from Port Saint Lucie or South on US1 coming from Vero Beach take Seaway Drive (South Bridge) or Florida A1A East towards the Fort Pierce Beaches. Continue over the bridge and follow the road until you reach South Ocean Drive (approx. 5 miles). Then turn right or go south about 1.3 miles and you will see a parking area on your left there is also parking along the street, there is an open lot on the corner with some garss parking. We will have traffic assistance from the Fort Pierce Police Department.
Please note that we are on Public Property and unfortunately cannot prepare the grounds and layout eggs the day before the event, everything is done the same day; it takes some time to setup and register everyone.
PRE-REGISTER ONLINE : To save some time please register online, we will have your names ready at the pre-registration booth.
AGE GROUPS : You will be given a color wristband based on your childs age group category, there are 4 age group categories divided as follows; 1-2 years, 3-4 years, 5-9 years and 10-12 years.
What time does it start?
The Easter Program starts at 10:00am with special live performances, dances and a message of hope through a drama presented by Club Pure students. The presentation will be followed by a 10 minute message that will lead us to the beach to ask God to help us with our relationships, finances, health, dreams, and our children. Our prayer requests will be nailed to the crosses that we have setup on the beach and this will give families a special moment together overlooking the beautiful coastline. The Egg Hunt will follow the time on the beach, we will all cross the road and take our positions to hunt for thousands of eggs. Following the Egg Hunt families can enjoy the afternoon having a picnic or possibly joining together with us for a free lunch under the pavillion. We are providing lunches [hotdogs, a bag of chips and drink] The event will run for about two hours from about 10:00am until noon, with lunch following.
what do we bring?
You will need to bring some lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on, remember that at 10am the grass may still be a little wet. In the last two years on the beach we have had cloudy mornings with a slight breeze, but by 11:00am it has been sunny, we recommend a sweater or long sleeve shirt in the morning, but it will warm up so you may want to bring something cooler to change into if you plan to spend some time on the beach or playing on the play ground. A camera is another option if you would like to get some snap shots and there will be photo opportunities with the BUNNY! A hat and or sunblock won't hurt either and the most important of all a HUGE basket or bag to put all those candy filled eggs in.
We have created a fun-filled, God-centered, free community event for the whole family....see you on the beach
